Order of Morning Star Sisters ~ OMS

“I am the Bright and Morning Star” ~ Rev. 22:16

Within a Native Ceremony and Holy Mass, the founding of the religious Order of Morning Star Sisters had her birth. On 17 August 2003, global people of MorningStar Community and supporters from diverse religious practices and ethnic backgrounds gathered on the Holyland to celebrate two herstorical events. MorningStar made perpetual vows as a religious hermitess, committing both her life and the new order to the preservation of simple and sacred birth.

After a decade of living the life of a hermitess and receiving a vision from the Great Mother, MorningStar searched for an existing religious order within the Catholic tradition that was in harmony with a life of non-violence and instinctual birth. Working closely with her spiritual director and the constant encouragement of the Holy Mother Vision, OMS came to be.

A Special Day of Prayer

Each year on 8 December (Immaculate Conception of Mary), the Associates of the Order of Morning Star Sisters gather to offer prayer, collectively recite the Maternal Rosary, make prayer beads and enjoy a retreat day of Peace and Beauty in Rose Cottage and The Holyland, MorningStar's private hermitage. To inquire about the OMS Associates or for interest in attending the annual retreat, write directly to sister@sistermorningstar.com

OMS Associates ~
Female or Male welcome following an innerview.

The associates for OMS meet annually on 8 December, the celebration of the Immaculate Conception of Holy Mary. They meet in the afternoon on the Holyland where they sing, praise, encourage, and seek God’s presence and guidance in living out the vision and mission of OMS. They recite the Maternal Rosary together. They are learning to recite the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic as well. New associates are welcomed and trained in a warm atmosphere of holy devotion. The formal gathering is followed by a Vegan feast. MorningStar endeavors to be present. Before they depart, they make agreements for the year and plan their next gathering. If you are interested in the holy work of OMS or the privileges and responsibilities of OMS associates you may contact Sister Morningstar at 573-348-6288 or by email.

May the Simple & Sacred lead us to a more peace-filled planet.
